Salmann Investment Management AG was founded as a partnership in 1985. Its registered company purpose was, and remains, serving discerning private and institutional clients. A branch of the company was established in Zürich in 1992 through the takeover of Matuschka & Partner (Switzerland) AG. This was followed in 1998 by the sale of the institutional sector of the business (CHF 2 billion in administered assets). In 2017, the company consolidated all its activities at Vaduz.
The term «Salmann», in Middle High German «Salman», stands for a trusted advisor. In ancient Alemannic-German judicial terms, a «Sala» denotes a trustee.
